On December 6th 2000 Kobe Bryant and Antawn Jamison decided to update history. they both went for 51 points making it only the third time in NBA history that opposing players scored 50 or more points in the same game. Jamison's Golden State Warriors topped Bryant's Lakers 125-122 in overtime.

It was Kobe's first career 50-point game and it was the second straight 50-point game for Antawn Jamison who went for 51 on December 3rd in a loss to the Seattle Supersonics.
