Date In NBA History: "Big Game James" Has #42 Raised To The Rafters

December 10th 1995 James Worthy had his #42 jersey retired by the Los Angeles Lakers. Worthy was a 7-time All-Star during his stellar 12 NBA seasons including championships in '85, '87 and '88 during the "Showtime" era. It was his play during the playoffs that earn Worthy the Big Game James nickname capped off with a triple-double in Game 7 of the '88 Finals against those Bad Boys from Detroit. In 143 career playoff games he averaged 21.1ppg.

As a kid watching those finals I just couldn't help but get anxious every time Big Game got the ball cause you just knew something special would happen. Here are some of those playoff highlights!
