Linsanity to Woodsanity in NY

Just when everybody thought Linsanity was dead, Jeremy Lin and the New York Knicks have won 5 in a row. Since the resignation of former coach Mike D'Antoni, new skipper Mike Woodson has the Knicks Bal-Lin. In 5 games with Woodson, NY is pounding opponents by 18.6 points per game.

Lin has thrived in the fourth quarter, Amare has found his explosiveness, and Melo has bought into the team. With the win Wednesday night in Philadelphia, NY is only 3 games back of the Sixers in the Atlantic division. First place for the Knicks is huge, they would avoid the Heat and Bulls in the first round of playoffs.

Mike Woodson has been vocal, holding players accountable, and preaching defense. I have never seen the Knicks play with this much passion on D since the 90's. With a great finish and a nice run in the playoffs, Woodson could ink a nice extension in New York. Woodsanity!

Back to Linsanity, Jeremy was touted by Volvo to be their brand ambassador. This is a global sponsorship for Lin, Volvo is based in China and feels he can reach younger people to buy their cars. Lin's deal is for two years and the first commercials featuring him should debut this summer.

"The thing that attracts us to him are his qualities as a person. It's terrific what he's doing on the court, but he is also the first NBA player in 57 years with a Harvard degree, and he's the most searched athlete in China. It's this star power and personality which is the reason we wanted to partner with him and tell the story." - John Maloney, President and CEO of Volvo Cars North America.

The 2012 Dunk Contest could be Linsane

The lineup for the 2012 Dunk contest is set. Blake Griffin has been excused since he has pretty much done it all already.

So who's going to be dunking this year? According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the contenders will be Chase Budinger of the Rockets, Paul George of the Pacers, Iman Shumpert of the Knicks, and  Derrick Williams of the Timberwolves.
Paul George going for a dunk.

No real controversy over Budinger, George or Williams, but Shumpert is a different story.

There are thoughts that Shumpert was only placed in this year's contest so that teammate Jeremy Lin might accompany him. That too would explain why Kenneth Faried of the Nuggets was not selected for the event.

While he won't be dunking, Lin is sure to make an appearance. It'll be Linsane if he doesn't though.

Linsane In The Brain

From all the videos that have came out over the past 10 days on the play of Jeremy Lin, has been described as Linsanity, Linning and for the creative-Super Lintendo and whatever other ways you can fit "lin" into a word.

After his first 5 starts Jeremy Lin is becoming more and more a household name by every dribble. He's surpassed records set by Lebron James, past Shaquille O'Neal on the all times points scored list since the merger for a player making their first five ever NBA starts.

Lin is not only rocking his home arena in the world famous Madison Square Garden in New York, but he's also causing opponent arenas to go...Linsane.

We said we'd keep you abreast if a movie deal was in the works and nothing has surfaced yet however it is time to get the man an anthem to go with the collection of videos that have plastered the internet landscape and so here you have it...

Cypress Hill just makes this all seem right!

Video: Jeremy "Linning"

It's sweeping this nation faster than a speeding bullet. It's making Ivy Leaguers believe they can play professional sports after college, it's filling in quite nicely in the retirement of Yao Ming... it's "Linning".

If you do not know what that is...well where the heck have you been the last week?

And with all of the hype comes the video and song...

If "Linning" is the answer to the Knicks woes MINUS Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire, that really has to make you think.

Shao-Lin...The Jeremy Lin Saga Continues

If any body needed a spark it was the New York Knicks. Nobody thought the Harvard grad Jeremy Lin would be it. After a 25 point, 7 assist, 5 rebound night against the Nets on Saturday. Lin followed that up with a 28 point, 8 assist night against the Jazz.

Madison Square Garden has a new favorite, so does Mike D'Antoni, who might have been out of a job if it wasn't for Lin's incredible play. He's a fearless kid with eyes behind his head, and gets to the rack Nash-like. Lin is a perfect fit for D'Antoni's offense which lets the point guard create and make plays on the fly.

It goes to show you how in sports as well as anything else in life, you work hard, great things happen! The night before the amazing game against the Nets, Jeremy needed a place to crash and ended up on Landry Fields couch. Who would have thought 4 days later his contract will be guaranteed for the rest of the season. Jeremy will have $788,872 reasons to smile.
