The Cambridge crowd came in hundreds, Security and Harvard police were not aware of the event. “I’m charging $5 to push the button,” joked one Harvard cop after fans repeatedly handed him their cameras to snap pictures of them with No. 36. O’Neal had announced his statue gig two weeks ago on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Toucher and Rich” morning show. He promised to allow fans to pose with him, sit babies on his lap, But he wouldn’t speak — because, “I’m a statue.”
Shaq joked after the statue gig saying “I can now tell everybody I went to Harvard,” .
