Law and Order: Nick Van Exel's Son Charged with Murder

Dallas police have arrested Nickey Maxwell Van Exel, 20, in the shooting death of Bradley Eyo.

According to the Dallas Observer:
Bradley Eyo, who was killed last weekend
The day after Christmas, Bradley Eyo (Facebook) was found shot to death on Barnes Bridge Road near Lake Ray Hubbard. But Dallas homicide detective and Garland police discovered during their investigation that Eyo, whose friends have made him this tribute, had been killed elsewhere and dumped near the lake. In advance of a 3 p.m. press conference at DPD HQ today, police this afternoon released the name of the man arrested in the young Nigerian man's death: 20-year-old Nickey Maxwell Van Exel, who is indeed the son of the former Dallas Maverick, and current Atlanta Hawks player development instructor, Nick Van Exel. Nickey was arrested last night and sits in the Lew Sterrett Justice Center on a $1-million bond, charged with capital murder; curiously, someone has written on Van Exel's Wikipedia page that Nickey and Bradley were best friends.

News: OJ Mayo's Father Charged With Trying to Kill Police Officer

Kenneth Ziegler, the father of Memphis Grizzlies guard O.J. Mayo, was arrested in West Virginia early Thursday morning after driving his vehicle into a police officer, resulting in a brief chase until his car was disabled with spike strips. He's being charged with attempted murder, two drug counts, obstruction and two fleeing counts.

OJ Mayo

NBA.com reports:

Two officers were searching for someone else at about 3:30 a.m. when they saw 39-year-old Kenneth Maurice Ziegler of Huntington in a vehicle trying to hide, police said. When they confronted him, he put the vehicle into gear, drove into one of the officers and dragged him, they said.
Police chased the vehicle for several miles through a Huntington neighborhood before disabling it with spike strips. Ziegler was captured after a short foot chase and charged with attempted murder, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, obstructing, fleeing in a vehicle and fleeing on foot, police said.
According to police, about 85 grams of marijuana and several chunks of crack cocaine were found in the vehicle.
Ziegler was being held Thursday at the Western Regional Jail. Police say there also are outstanding warrants charging him with fleeing, driving on a suspended license and burglary.
Huntington attorney Jason Goad, who is representing Ziegler, declined to comment.

UPDATE: Shaq Fights Lawsuit on Hacking

CNN.com reports that Shaquille O'Neal filed a motion to dismiss the claim in which a former worker accuses the NBA star of hacking into his personal accounts and attempting to frame him for using child porn.

Shaq
Basically the claim is the Shaq was being blackmailed because his "personal computer consultant" had proof of his cheating on his wife with several women.
And Shaq says, no...that guy illegally accessed his personal information. Thus making him the "hacker."

Read the full details of the complaint here.

Love: Dwight Howard Sues Royce Reed

...not $5k, or even $5 millon dollars. No Dwight Howard is suing the mother of his child $500 million dollars!
dwight vs royce

The reason...he claims she is continuly bashing him in the media and secretly leaking information about him.
TMZ reports:

TMZ has obtained legal docs filed by the Orlando Magic star in Orange County, Florida, in which he claims his baby mama Royce Reed — who stars on VH1′s “Basketball Wives” — leaked dirt about him to the media at least 11 times … thus violating a 2009 gag order.
In the docs, Howard explains that if the leaked stories reached 1,000,000 people — a safe estimate given that the stories were posted all over the Internet — the damages should add up to $500,500,000 based on the terms of their previous agreement.
A rep for Reed denies any wrongdoing — telling TMZ the leaked info originated from legal documents … which is “immune to any agreement made by the parties.”
These two stay in the press, and their dirty laundry keeps popping out the washing machine.
Why he would want to cripple the mother of his child financially (after all she does raise his own child), no matter how much he may hate her, is a point we just don't get.

We told you this was getting ugly.

Uh Oh: Shaq Sued for Hacking

Shaquille O'Neal

New Celtics star Shaquille O’Neal is at the center of an explosive new lawsuit accusing him of computer hacking, destroying evidence, and indicating that he attempted to frame an employee by planting child pornography on his computer, RadarOnline.com is reporting exclusively. Ugh.
Here are some of the explosive allegations:
  • Shaq hacked into the voicemails and phone systems of Darling and Vanessa Lopez, a mistress who is currently suing O’Neal. He deleted Lopez’s messages and changed her password.
  • O’Neal used his law enforcement contacts, both active and retired, to obtain restricted information about one of his mistresses, Alexis Miller, while he was involved in a legal battle with her.
  • Shaq threw a personal computer holding much of this evidence in the lake behind his home.
  • Shaq conspired with active law enforcement as well as ex-members of law enforcement to frame Darling for a criminal offense and destroy any evidence that Darling might have against O’Neal.

Is this why he really wanted to become a police officer? To get on the inside of things?
Geesh!!
