History: Kobe and MJ Set All Star Records On The Same Day

When you take a look back at history why does that Outkast line "Forever never seems that long until your grown" seem so true.



Yes Kobe is in his 15th season and Mike is in his 1st full season as a majority owner but 13 years ago on January 25th 1998 when the final All-Star Game ballot returns were in they both made history. For Michael it was the ninth time he would lead all players in votes which is and NBA record. For Kobe he would become the youngest starter in All-Star Game history at the tender age of 19. Just another good storyline heading into that years February All Star Game at the Garden.

We reported that we saw a wedding ring on Lakers Shannon Brown earlier this week.

Well, now he admits it.


30-year-old Monica and 25-year-old Shannon Brown indeed tied the knot in a very private secret ceremony. Shannon wouldn't confirm the details like date and place and so forth, but he did just confirm that Monica is now his wife, and "he really doesn't know what else to say about it."  The two dated for about 6 months.

Chalk Up Another Honor For Kobe

Kobe just keeps adding to his hardware collection. Well his latest honor will require his hands and feet to get a little dirty but we doubt he'll mind. Cool Stuff: Finally A Shaq Given Nickname For He and Rondo

And we wonder how despite their age the Celtics keep winning. They got the Big Three and more that may have something to do with. On a night when the Celtics were obviously off their game, Shaq stepped up big but the fun was only beginning.

Never has a figure been able to give themselves as many nicknames in a career that have stuck than the "Diesel". After talking about the sluggish win over the Pistons (Rip Hamilton DNP-CD number 4 in a row) Shaq gave WEEI plenty of reasons from the sleet to the lack of finishing off opponents.

Then the "Big Shamrock" dropped the latest slogan or nickname whichever you prefer for he and Rondo at the 1:03 mark in reference to one one of them getting hot on a given night:

“You got any one of the Big Three and ‘La Odda Dos’ — me and Rondo — that can take over a game at any time. We’ve just got to continue to play hard. We’ve got to learn to get up for everybody.”

Maybe a slip up on my spanish but doesn't that mean "the other two"? At any rate were glad he finally found something to drop for he and Rondo as they've been connecting well of late!
